Red Dust Active is about providing technical, fun, functional and stylish active head + neck wear, so you are able to focus on your ACTIVE and enjoy those amazing post-workout endorphins and all the other benefits that come from exercising and adventuring.

And I'm Jo! Co-Founder of this little company of ours, Red Dust Active.

I'm really excited to be sharing with you, over time, stories of everyday adventurers (women like you and me) getting outside their comfort zone to follow their ACTIVE dreams.

Exercising and adventuring are different for everyone and each of us has our own unique and personal goals. Adventures don’t have to be ridiculously difficult to be awesome and we are hoping to showcase this in our "I Found" blog posts - everyday adventurers out there finding their active.

Reading and exploring what others have "found" will hopefully inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and encourage you to take those first steps to become your own #everydayadventurer.

We also look forwarding to showcasing your "I Found" story, as your story may be the one to inspire someone else to find their ACTIVE.

Over the years (many many many years), through being ACTIVE, I have found, learned and discovered so many things:

  • I have made life long friends,
  • I met (found) my husband,
  • I have discovered that the hardest part sometimes is just stepping outside the door,
  • I learnt that I love those post-exercise/adventuring endorphins,
  • I also learned that I am not the biggest fan of getting up early in the morning,
  • I found that my happy place is being outside in the great outdoors. It can change any grey mood to one of pure bliss,
  • I have discovered I am capable of more than I thought possible.....

I have found, learned and discovered so many different things over the years and I can't wait to explore and discover more.

Also, through different periods of my life, I have found and been drawn to different ACTIVE journeys and adventures, depending on the circumstances in my life at the time.

I am also looking forward to sharing my "I Found" moments with you over time and they turn out to be a bit eclectic - rogaining, Parkrun, netball, trail running, swimming, road running, cycle touring, yoga, judo, cycle commuting, hiking, walking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, camping, basketball, The Grouse Grind  (obviously not all at the same time). Stay tuned to find out more :)

Here's to us all being Everyday Adventures - #findyouractive

Riding to work and using her bike as her main mode of transport, not just a form of exercise, is something Taren has grown to love. Along the way, Taren has also enjoyed the benefits this simple little change to her routine has provided - fun, fitness, happiness (no more getting caught in traffic congestion), money savings, convenience and not to mention getting to enjoy the fresh air.

I LOVE as you go through different stages in your life you are drawn to different types of ACTIVE  journeys and adventures. Sometimes you need to step back a little and other times you have the opportunity to go full steam ahead.

Full disclosure this week in #ifoundfridays I have my mum talking about her current ACTIVE. She has definitely been a great role model for me as I have always known her to be doing something. I have seen her go from running to netball to golf to hiking to gym workouts to Pilates.

Each stage of her life different ACTIVE's has bought her different joys and achievements and currently, that is Pilates for her.
