Tech Talk! Let's chat about fabric offcuts.
The clothing industry has a textile waste problem and textile waste can take 40 years or more to biodegrade - while polluting the soil in the process.
It is hard to stay on top of everything when you run a small business but we certainly try and do our bit. We use whatever excess fabric and textile scraps we can. Top-quality fabric is used ensuring our products last the distance and will stay in your wardrobe for years to come.
Our merino wool neck warmers/gaiters are all made from the offcuts of one our merino wool beanies (aka - the Crested Corella - the one you can poke your ponytail through).
This ensures there is no wastage and nothing is left to fall on the floor and be swept away into the landfill abyss.
Did I mention the amazing qualities of Merino Wool (I think I have but here we go again) naturally insulating, sweat-wicking, soft on the skin, odour resistant and super comfortable, all perfect for being #active in the great outdoors.

Cotton is a super comfortable fabric to wear and certainly has its uses - it is a natural fibre, it is breathable, it is super soft and is hypoallergenic so it doesn't irritate your skin. It is a great fabric for many different uses and occasions.
However, when it comes to the great outdoors and especially if you are venturing further a field or partaking in extended adventures, cotton has many shortcomings and may get you into trouble.
