Finding motivation wasn't easy for Alyssa, but she kept persisting until she found what was right for her. Everyone's active is different and it is all about finding your bliss and what is the right fit for you.

What is your ACTIVE?
I absolutely love lifting weights! I am a huge fan of this when I workout!:)

How did you find your ACTIVE?
It honestly took me a long time to figure out how to be motivated, determined, and find my love for working out. It took a long time. I emphasize that so much.

It’s something I looked into, researched, and really thought about for a while. I was tired of being “Tired”. I knew I had to change and now was the perfect time to do so. I wasn’t kind to my body, I knew that I was just lazy to do anything about it.

It’s never too late to start doing something to improve yourself!

What do you love about your ACTIVE?
I love how it makes me feel. I feel on top of the world after a workout, and I adore that. It’s something that takes an hour or two, and after you feel amazing. Completely worth it. I enjoy how I feel mentally after my workout, I am all about that.

What surprises have you experienced through your ACTIVE journey? 
I have surprised myself with my motivation. I didn’t think I truly had it in me. If you would’ve seen me before, I was the least motivated person when it came to working out. Like I said I didn’t care.

Now I am proud. I am happy with my progress! If you have an amazing mindset and are open-minded, you would be surprised how much you can do!

What were the challenges getting started?
I had zero motivation. When I say it took me years, it took me years. I hated home workouts, I was more fixated on the machines. I didn’t think home workouts were effective.

I completely take that back now. I am so surprised at how effective home workouts are! If you give yourself some credit, believe in yourself, and give yourself a chance, you can do it!

It’s actually finding that motivation to get off the couch and get going that’s difficult but you can do it!

How do you keep yourself motivated?
I keep myself motivated by .... don’t laugh! I showcase a picture of my goals and what I am inspired to look like! This helps me keep going, keeps me focused, and is amazing! This is so effective and trust me.... I keep this picture beside me for my whole workout!

If you could share one piece of inspiration to those finding their ACTIVE and staying motivated, what would it be?
I would say to give yourself a chance. Be open-minded and to not give up. I thought this was so far fetched to achieve the goals I wanted, I didn’t really think it could happen, but here I am... on my fitness journey!

Don’t give in, be kind to yourself, and give yourself a chance.

How has your ACTIVE changed over the years?
I just recently started being active! I never really gave it a go in the past, or never stuck to it. I think I am way more motivated now than I was in the past that’s for sure.

Words of wisdom to share:
I would say to give yourself a chance. Be kind to your body, listen to it. It goes a long way trust me.
