What is your ACTIVE?
Trail running

How did you find your ACTIVE?
I set myself up a challenge to run the London Marathon and discovered two things: I really don't like running on the road, but I enjoyed running for hours.

What do you love about your ACTIVE?
Discovering new places and being outdoors! It's always an adventure.

What surprises have you experienced through your ACTIVE journey?
Making new friends at races and discovering something new about myself every time.

What were the challenges getting started?
I'm asthmatic so going up hills was always such a chore. Come to think of it, it still is!

How do you keep yourself motivated?
I set myself small goals that add up overtime.

If you could share one piece of inspiration to those finding their ACTIVE and staying motivated, what would it be?
The hardest thing is getting out of the door. Once you manage to do that, just remember to be kind to yourself, remember why you want to be active, and take it one step at a time.

How has your ACTIVE changed over the years?
I started from being a complete couch potato (roll out of bed onto the computer type... I still do this some days!) to hiking, running 10k races in parks, marathons and now I go on for days sometimes!
