What is your ACTIVE?
I love anything that keeps me moving but if I had to pick one....definitely spin.
How did you find your ACTIVE?
I slowly began getting active after I lost 60lbs. I sourced different avenues to find people like myself that were losing weight, needed to start moving but were still also overweight. I joined a couple of low impact classes at our local rec center and went from there.
What do you love about your ACTIVE?
I love being able to keep up with our kids and motivating other people to get moving.
What surprises have you experienced through your ACTIVE journey?
Everyday is a new surprise. I love pushing myself to see what I can do and I love inspiring people to know they can do the same.
What were the challenges getting started?
None. I was motivated to get healthy and nothing was stopping me this time.
How do you keep yourself motivated?
I make sure that I have time for me everyday. Working out and being active makes me happy and once I knew my happiness also mattered, the time was easy to make. I may not always be motivated but I’m constant and to me, that’s what matters.
If you could share one piece of inspiration to those finding their ACTIVE and staying motivated, what would it be?
Find what makes you happy and do it.
How has your ACTIVE changed over the years?
In my younger years I was extremely active, then life, then babies, then excuses. Once I stopped with the excuses and got back to being active, I feel like a new me.
